*Alright so this blog isn't always about AI - the name of the blog perhaps being a giveaway. I do want to write about music & piano occassionally - variation is good and all...*

I've taken the leap and started my own [**Youtube channel**](https://www.youtube.com/@oliphonic1?ref=oliphonic.com) ([Oliphonic](https://www.youtube.com/@oliphonic1?ref=oliphonic.com)) where I will post videos of me playing the piano with varying degrees of success dependent upon the difficulty of the piece. If you know me, then you will know I've played piano my whole life, I'd probably say I enjoy it more than writing about AI (who knew?) - and I figured it'd be a cool thing to do.

Here's the link to my very first video: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mwqz-1HMjKY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mwqz-1HMjKY&ref=oliphonic.com) \- Chopin's Andante Spianato. I've also now uploaded the [Grande Polonaise Brillante](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=URFRs3Gtmbw&list=RDURFRs3Gtmbw&start%5Fradio=1&ref=oliphonic.com). Both of these pieces feature in The Pianist (brilliant movie...)

Let me say one thing: **respect** to all content creators out there and those who splice & edit all of their video & audio work. **HOLY HELL** \- it is complex & difficult to do.

Simply getting to the point of having a decent mounted mic to record, 2 camera views for wide-angle and hands close-up, and then sync'ing audio, video & all in post - was an absolute journey. The intro and outro title frames I added look like they are fresh out of a 90's CD attached to the front of the PC Gamer magazine. But they were genuinely the best-looking & most complex I could get them!

I also spent at least an hour trying to work out why my microphone happily recorded my voice **but not the piano sounds**. Unfortunately this was related to a form of **noise cancellation setting** that was enabled buried about 15 views deep into control panel - *no offence taken computer, no offence taken.*

My PC now has at least **7 new pieces of software** related to audio splicing, video editing, codec conversion, video conversion - and I've also learnt that my laptop is clearly no-where close up to spec with what it needs to be to handle processing & export of these videos. At one point I thought my PC was going to melt.

Either way, it's been a journey and a fun one. If you enjoy classical music & want to have a listen, check it out!

*Onto the next 'noisy' piece (thanks computer...)...*
